David trained in a medium-sized Glasgow firm and has worked for three years (two years abroad) with an international firm of chartered accountants. David spent two years in industry with a major Scottish Mutual Life Assurance Company and national distribution network. He quotes his main business achievement as being the development of Manson and Partners over twenty-four years before its merger with Armstrong Watson in 2006.

Anything involving outdoor pursuits. His London Marathon days (he ran five of them) are behind him, so his focus now is on hill walking with over 100 'Munros' in the bag, as well as messing about in boats just off the west coast of Scotland.
